Language and Literacy: Communication, collaboration, co-production
LALco is a multidisciplinary network, which brings together individuals with shared interests in language and literacy but different knowledge and expertise. This will create a context for inclusive dialogue to raise awareness of challenges and to generate evidence-based and workable solutions for closing the language and literacy attainment gap.[purehtml id=2]Our aim is to connect a broad range of stakeholders from research and practice (teachers, early years’ professionals, researchers, parents, policy makers, key third-sector organisations and librarians) to support the language and literacy skills that are key to the attainment and well-being of children and young people here in Scotland, and elsewhere.[purehtml id=3]This project was originally funded as a workshop series by the Scottish Universities Insight Institute entitled Conversations about language and literacy: Promoting equity and attainment through engagement.Resources from these workshops, and more, can be found on the website.
